History of CLM
City Life Ministries developed out of the mandate and vision of the Morgan family, a group of ministers with a particular call to nations and to the Church within the nation.
The relationship with the Down Town communities of Kingston Jamaica started one summer evening in 1997. Dr. Patricia Morgan and a small group of friends were walking along the piers of the Kingston Harbour. There they met upon another group of friends (young teenage boys) swimming in the harbour.
Dr. Pat and this special group of young men forged a relationship which continues till this day and has expanded to the wider community of Southside.
In the summer of 2004, Bishop C.B. Peter Morgan and his apostolic team set up office Down Town responding to a burden to reach out to what they considered the ‘heart’ of the city. With a mission to affect the entire nation they chose to focus first on the community of Southside which eventually gave birth (six months later) to City Life Ministries.
The Ministry was officially dedicated on January 23, 2005, at the Jamaica Conference Centre and consecrated on that day is the current recognized visionary and leader of this work, Pastor Carrington Peter Morgan Jr.
The officiating ministers were Bishop Herro Blair, Rev. Dr. Merrick “Al” Miller, and Bishop C.B. Peter Morgan.
Within the organizational structure of City Life ministries is an active core group of Christians which identifies itself as Kingston City Church. This body of believers became immersed into the life of the community and remains the driving force of the ministry.
The chief strategy of CLM is pulled from Isaiah 61. This rich passage of (prophetic) scripture has guided the leaders and the core group through the exciting challenges of building a unique and untraditional organization. Following the lead of the Holy Spirit they have been taken into places and thought processes that they had neither seen nor experienced before.
Over the last two years, the blue-print of the work has been carefully sketched and the relationships built within the community, purposefully forged.
CLM seeks to play the role of Facilitator and thus, throughout the various empowerment programmes it is keen on identifying and supporting the current and future leaders of the targeted community
